The St. Christopher surf pendant is two-sided and somewhat light-hearted
in a respectful way. The usual image of the saint bearing child
Jesus on his shoulders as they cross turbulent waters has been
altered a bit. This surf pendant depicts St. Christopher in a
stance similar to a surfer, and child Jesus is not on the shoulders
but rather is sitting totally off the shoulder and apparently
enjoying the "ride" as seen by his posture. The other
side depicts a surfer in the midst of a ride, with a huge wave
in the background. Certainly a different image captured on this
pendant.
Good as gold!! Saint Christopher gold pendants are available
in 14 carat gold and several shapes. Expect higher costs when
considering because this is real gold, which is currently quite
costly. There are gold pendants and white gold pendants, which
are usually available in choice of two shapes, oval or oblong.
As you expect, the detail on the figure and on the inscription
are high quality. There are two choices on the inscription on
these St. Christopher pendants. One choice is the more traditional
with "Saint Christopher" spelled out along the top perimeter
and "Protect Us" on the lower perimeter. A little less
traditional but very attractive piece spells out "Saint Christopher
Protect Us" around the perimeter starting on the lower left,
over the upper, and ending on the lower right.
Looking for something tasteful but out of the ordinary? Consider
"open work" Saint Christopher pendant in 14 carat gold
or in sterling silver. To imagine "open work" jewelry,
think of a paper cut-out image and think of a cut-out round letter
"O" or an oval shaped letter "O". Now picture
the cut out image glued to the "O" wherever the image
and the letter touch, leaving open space as the background for
the image. The appearance of the gold or the sterling silver image
mounted to the round open background is a truly dramatic presentation
of Saint Christopher patron saint of travelers. Another tasteful
but a bit unusual is the St. Christopher sterling silver pendant
in a square shape. The image is the traditional one and the inscription
letters on the outer perimeter of the square are done quite well
and flow with the overall appearance of the pendant.
A very distinctive pendant is the St. Christopher gold pendants
in yellow gold with scallop edge. These are available in several
sizes and make a striking appearance and show dedication to the
patron saint.
